Adrián Madrid is a photographer who pays homage to his hometown, La Azohía, through the figure of the zagales: the beach boys who embody youth, warmth, friendship, and the sea. The project captures this local imagery with a nostalgic yet vibrant gaze, celebrating a way of life deeply rooted in the Mediterranean coast.
Goal
To create an editorial and visual identity that amplifies Adrián Madrid’s photographic narrative, reflecting the vitality and nostalgia of La Azohía.
The challenge was to design an art direction capable of balancing tradition with a fresh coastal energy, using materials, colors, and visual codes inspired by the Mediterranean environment.
Result
An editorial design that mirrors the rhythm of photography and elevates its storytelling.
The result is a dynamic identity where typography, color, and layout intertwine to reinforce Adrián’s vision. Sal, sun, rock, and water become part of the visual language, while the design embraces both the authenticity of tradition and the immediacy of summer. A tribute that feels as vivid and timeless as the zagales it celebrates.
